Snowshoeing is a massive growing sport. You can do it almost anywhere, with all kinds of snow conditions, regardless of your fitness level or skill. Personal Best and Caledon Hills Bike Shop are working together to bring you a unique-fun-social winter experience on Sunday, Feb 12th at the Albion Hills Conservation Park in Caledon (5min north of Bolton). The Feb 10th PB-Caledon Hills Bike Shop Event is a part of the Snowshoe Canada Winter Race Series. Participants have a number of options on this fun-social bare-bones event.

  • Snowshoe only (4k or 8k)
  • Snowshoe duathlon (4k or 8k snowshoe +  4km run)
  • Fat Bike only (8km)
  • Fat Bike only (16km)
  • Fat Bike Duathlon (run 4km after the Fat Bike)

Ontario Cup Snowshoe Series

The 4k and 8k snowshoe events both qualify for points in the Ontario Cup Snowshoe Series.  More details here


snowshoe2Snowshoeing can be done at a modest slower pace power-walk or running very quickly like the efforts you wold see at 5k or 10k race. The PERSONAL BEST BARE BONES WINTER SNOW-SHOE-RUN is perfect for any level and age. Coaches will have "Learn to" days on the property for those who want to improve their skills and fitness. The longer 8k Snowshoe + 4km run is

designed for the person who has a bit more endurance capacity & has likely snowshoed before. The shorter distance race is designed for both the novice person as well as the speedster who likes to go fast!


Everyone needs to have some warmer clothing. The temperature in February is likely zero or below. Dress warm but in layers.

Snowshoes are obviously required unless you're on a relay team.

People on the FAT BIKES will start 5min ahead of the snowshoe participants at 9:25am on the same 8km longer loop. At 9:30am ALL snowshoe participants will begin in one mass start. Everyone does the same initial leg of the course. At a specific place on the course, the 8km snowshoe people and Fat Bike Riders will break-off to do the longer loop. Everyone will end up back to the main lodge (which is the transition zone, finishing line and where food-awards-timing will all occur). The run is a 4km out and back that comes back to the Chalet, where you can warmup, have your post-race hot chocolate, meal and post-race awards.


The feedback from or clients and athletes is that people would prefer a lower priced, bare-bones fun event, rather than a much
more expensive race with lots of swag that drives up the price. Our Barebones event will include a great safe race, park entrance fee, a great post-race meal, post race timing results, and some fun, fast draw prizes for everyone at the finishing line.


This event is designed for all ages and all levels. We fully anticipate that a large percentage of the participants in the first year will be newbies who are just learning the great basic skills of snowshoeing.
