BRAND NEW CONDOS FOR 2016
ENCANTADA LUXURY APARTMENTS

Once again in 2017, just 500m from where we use to stay, are the new Encantada Luxury Apartments. PB has moved to these new fully furnished condos because of the additional luxury of bigger condo pool, brand new weight room, restaurant/coffee shop on the property, indoor movie theatre for group evening activities and social-bbq area for team socials.

These new, fully stocked condos are 2 and 3 bedrooms. Each condo has a complete kitchen, living room, 1-2 bathrooms with TV and wireless internet. Just 1km from the local grocery stores and restaurants, the condos are perfectly situated. The mountains are 1km away, the bike and run pathway is immediately behind the condos and the 500km of bike protected bike lanes are right out your door. http://encantadaliving.com/steam-pump/photos/

TRE 0904MT LEMON FACTOR: No City in North America has a more exciting series of different rides to pick one. Most famous is the epic, 25 mile MT LEMON ride. Start with cactus in the desert at mile zero and end the 25 miles next to the snow-boarders at the top of Mt Lemon and get your well earned cookie or slice of pizza at the top of the mountain and your souvenir PB gift as well. PB staff always support all riders with van support up the mountain.

500+ KM OF PROTECTED BIKE LANES FOR GREAT RIDING: Every single year, the city adds more and more kilometers of amazing, great pavement and a protected bike lanes for safe and great riding. You can do a 160km ride from the condos and never not be on a bike lane. With 7-8 amazing bike rides, the problem will be figuring out how to fit them into one week.

tucson-poolHEATED OUT-DOOR SWIMS:  PB has two world class outdoor swimming pools located near the camp Condos where you will be staying.  Even if you're not in a triathlon camp, there is still a chance to get a swim in over the week. With the Tucson Mountains in the back-drop of both pools, your guaranteed to have a breath-taking view during each swim.

ICONIC RUNNING IN TUSON:  We have a combination of running trails, quiet roads and beautiful bike paths to run on. Depending on your needs, we can have a shorter faster technical run or a longer endurance one. We usually run earlier in the morning, to avoid the heat and give you the perfect chance to see the sun coming up over the mountains.

ELITE COACHING DIFFERENCE:  Hall OF Fame and Olympic coach Barrie Shepley will be overseeing the management of the winter 2016 Training Camps. With 30 years of coaching expertise, and athletes who have won medals at Ironman, World Championships and all race distances, Barrie has the experience to make sure your needs are met.   Barrie will have select elite coaches and athletes joining him at every camp over the winter.

BBQ’S – SOCIALS & SITESEEING:  The new condos have an amazing BBQ & outdoor kitchen right at the pool. You can cook in your room, BBQ at the pool side or head out to one of the great local restaurants for evening supper. Once or twice during the camp, we try to do a group night out (its never mandatory) and other nights its 50/50 with half the group heading out for supper and the other half staying in and cooking for themselves. Its that flexible. With numerous site-seeing and great shopping nearby, you can opt out of a workout and chill, read a book or go shopping. You alter the week the way you want for your needs.

SPORT MASSAGE AVAILABLE:  We have world-class massage therapists who come to the camp 1-2x a week. Its totally optional, but these therapists have worked with Olympic, College and Professional athletes. They bring their massage table to your condo. World class sport massage right in your condo.

ABILITY TO CUSTOMIZE THE WEEK:  After 30 years of camps, we know how to customize a week. Once we understand your major goals (technique, general fitness, big bike miles for your 2016 races), we can coordinate you with other campers of equal fitness and athletic objectives. Rarely does the entire group/camp do the same workouts based on need, fitness and goals.

TR0 3919300+ DAYS OF SUN:  In the last 2 years, we have had 2 days of rain over the entire winter. Tucson has 300+ days of sunshine and the traditional day starts off in the 70s for the morning run and builds to mid 80s by the afternoon. It cools off at night to sleep AND importantly, with very low humidity, you rarely sweat. It’s the perfect combination to tan, train and sightsee without being soaked in sweat.

Camp Experts

BARRIE SHEPLEY: Hall of Fame and Olympic coach Barrie Shepley is the head-coach for the winter camps. Barrie’s role is to make sure that all campers get the experience they are looking for. Barrie will work with his coaching staff each week to ensure that your needs are met.

CARON SHEPLEY: Caron is also founder and owner of Blue Dog Yoga and Fitness. She specializes in teaching yoga, fusion and core conditioning classes. Caron is a master yoga instructor and for 7 years, trained fitness professionals to be yoga instructors through the organization CPTN (Certified Personal Trainer’s Network). She has completed the Ironman Triathlon eight times and won a silver medal for Canada at the world Triathlon Championships. Drawing from her kinesiology background and several years as a Ironman triathlete, Caron has developed an athletic style of yoga and muscle conditioning which focuses on increasing strength, power and muscle balance. Caron's classes are attended by all sorts of people, from beginners to Olympic level.

GREG PACE: The multiple Ironman finisher, has been coaching Triathletes for 25 years and is one of the most respected minds in triathlon. Greg was in Kona in 2011, 2013 & 2014 with age group athletes, and has athletes who race all over the world at every distance. Greg will be the head coach for the April 9th – April 16th Triathlon Camp. Note this camp is by invitation only, so please confirm with Barrie if your interested in this week.

KRISTEN MARCHANT: A two time World Age Group Champion, Kristen turned professional this year and was on the podium a number of times with her first half Ironman victory added to her resume. Kristen will be be in Arizona for the winter and will be helping coach and train for her 2016 season.

SEAN BECHTEL: One of North America’s most respected elite triathletes. With a varsity swim and run background, the professional triathlete has got off the bike with Craig Alexander, Chris McCormack and Greg Bennett. In 2013 Sean Bechtel was the first Canadian finisher at Ironman Mt Tremblant. Sean also won his second National Off Road Championships and has won dozens of triathlons over his career. Sean has expanded his triathlon coaching career and will be balancing coaching and training in 2016.

MIGUEL VADILLO: The former national team modern pentathlete made history when he swam 55km across Lake Ontario without a wetsuit. International skilled in coaching swimming & endurance athletes, Miguel speaks perfect English & Spanish and his wisdom on the pool deck is amazing.

ANDREW YORKE: One of the few Canadians to ever be on Canada’s National Jr Team, National under 23 team, National Elite Team, Pan American Games Team, Commonwealth Games Team and Olympic Team.  Andrew has raced all over the world for a decade representing Canada. The 2015 Canadian National Champion lives between Caledon and Hamilton Ontario.  The McMaster graduate swam and ran cross country and track while at McMaster.  Andrew was 4th at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and has focused on the Olympic Distance Format during his pro career.  Those who watched the Rio Olympic Games, would have seen Andrew taken down in a bike crash that massively damaged his bike and also his body.  The courageous Canadian got off the pavement in Rio, pushed his bike to a wheel stop then rode solo the balance of the bike to stay ahead of the lead pack with the Brownlee Brothers.  Andrew is now officially retired from Olympic racing but has not stopped training.  He is returning to his first passion (running) where he has some very high goals on the road and track

TR0 3391ADDITIONAL COACHES: Are being added to the staff over the winter.  Stay tuned for updates.
